What is Reiki?<\/h3>\n

Reiki is an ancient discipline of oriental origin which aims to harmonize the body, heart, mind and spirit (Ki) with the universal reality (Rei).<\/p>\n

It was Mikao Usui who founded Reiki as a “Natural Healing System” based on multiple levels, codifying the techniques and procedures for channeling and transmitting energy through Activation Ceremonies and Treatments.<\/p>\n

Since it is a channeling process, using techniques and procedures well codified and practiced for thousands of years, there is no interference between the personal energy of the giver and the recipient of Reiki.<\/p>\n

What happens in my body?<\/h4>\n

The treatments bring energy to the various points of the body and start a process of expulsion of toxins and removal of energy blockages. Pain is relieved and tissue healing processes are accelerated. Muscles relax, tensions melt away and psychophysical well-being increases.<\/p>\n

The treatments, i.e. the precise methods of transmitting Reiki energy through the hands, basically deal with eliminating “energy blockages”.<\/p>\n

What happens to the brain waves during a treatment?<\/h4>\n

During treatments, brain waves are progressively tuned from Beta frequencies to lower and slower frequencies, Alpha, Theta and Delta.<\/p>\n

Beta Waves<\/strong> (12 to 33 Hz) Beta Waves (12 to 33 Hz) are a range of higher frequencies that arise as a result of intense neural activity, which binds us to daily activities in which we pay close attention , when we have to remain alert and attentive to multiple stimuli. Excessive neural hyperactivation can lead to a state of anxiety or harmful stress.<\/p>\n

Alpha Waves<\/strong> (8 to 13 Hz) Alpha waves are produced in that intermediate phase of twilight in which there is stillness but no sleep, in which there is relaxation and a state conducive to meditation.<\/p>\n

Theta Waves<\/strong> (from 3.5 to 8 Hz) They are mainly related to our imaginative abilities, reflection and sleep. Theta waves tend to show high activity when we are feeling deep emotions.<\/p>\n

Delta Waves<\/strong> (1 to 3 Hz) Delta waves have the greatest amplitude and are related to deep (but dreamless) sleep. An adequate level of delta waves supports and takes care of the immune system, as well as our rest and learning ability.<\/p>\n
